It’s Thanksgiving and Garner Giraffe can’t think of one thing to be grateful for. His best friend, Charlene, has taken a job at the San Diego Zoo. All his animal friends have important roles to play in the holiday celebrations. Mary Cay Wesolowski is a writer who has co-authored three books on trains and model railroading with husband Wayne. Grandmothering, crafts, church activities and the surrounding Arizona desert are among her joys.

Betsy Hoyt Feinberg is a writer, artist, naturalist, and illustrator who lives in the Sonora Desert, where she communes with jackrabbits, lizards, and other desert creatures, when she’s not drawing animals at Tucson’s Reid Park Zoo.
